What is Women in Games?

Women in Games is an initiative by Game Developer Association of India focused on empowering, supporting, and creating opportunities for women in the gaming industry through community building, mentorship, networking, events, workshops, and industry collaborations.

The community is open to women across all areas of the gaming ecosystem, including students, aspiring developers, artists, designers, programmers, founders, streamers, researchers, and industry professionals.

Yes. Women in Games is an inclusive community that welcomes trans women, non-binary, and genderqueer individuals who feel aligned with our mission of creating a safer and more supportive space in gaming.

You can apply to become a City Chapter Lead by reaching out to the Women in Games team with details about your experience, community involvement, and interest in building and supporting the local gaming ecosystem in your city.

Nominations for the Trailblazer Award can be submitted through the official nomination form during the nomination period. The award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the gaming industry and community.

Studios and organizations can support Women in Games through partnerships, sponsorships, mentorship programs, speaking opportunities, internships, workshops, community initiatives, and by creating inclusive opportunities for women in gaming.

You can participate in the Game Jam by registering through the official event page once registrations open. Participants can join individually or as teams, and details regarding themes, timelines, rules, mentorship sessions, and submission guidelines will be shared before the event begins.

No. Joining the Women in Games community is completely free. Some special events or workshops may require prior registration, but community membership itself does not have any fee.
